"I have been selling on eBay for about four years," said local seller Elizabeth Mays. "I started out selling things out of my closet to raise money for piano lessons and gymnastics lessons and that sort of thing for my family." "We are much more successful at buying things on eBay than selling them." Now people in our area have another option: the Snappy Auctions store on Wilmington Island. "They know they have value, but they don't know how to get that value out of them. So we encourage people to bring in their stuff and we will sell it for them. They'll write the listing--including digital photos of your item--and help you find the right asking price. The end result: a professional online auction that sellers hope will fetch good prices. "I think that something like this company, Snappy Auctions, will be able to sell something with more vigor, with a more snappy image, and bring a better price for both me and for them," said Williams.
