Quizno's Opens Its First Restaurant In Mexico

Denver - 7 November, 2002 -

Quizno's Subs, the fastest growing sandwich chain in the U.S.*, is expanding its international reach even further with the opening of its first restaurant in Mexico. The restaurant is located in the heart of Monterrey's shopping district. It is the first of four Quizno's Subs to open in Mexico by the end of 2003. Quizno's Master Franchisee for Mexico, Richard Eisenberg, said, "The Mexican culture has fully embraced the quick service restaurant industry. We expect Quizno's to do very well here." Early indicators show Quizno's has been well received. Over 200 customers lined up to purchase an oven-toasted sub during the first day of business. "Our investment in Mexico will continue to grow," said Stacie Lange, Quizno's spokesperson. "We hope to develop an additional 30 restaurants in southern Mexico over the next five years." Mexico adds to the ever-growing list of foreign countries opening Quizno's restaurants. Today, Quizno's has over 1800 stores in 11 countries, as well as Puerto Rico and Guam. These countries include: Australia, Bahrain, Costa Rica, Canada, Mexico, Iceland, Japan, Korea, Panama, UAE, and the United Kingdom.
