Chain Doing Area Deals

Management of Manchu WOK company figure operators know how to run two or three different concepts at a time, then they can do Chinese food, as well. The Canadian-based international franchisor of Chinese restaurants has adopted a strategy of signing up franchisees in area development deals. Manchu WOK is looking for operators who have a number of different concepts in a geographic area, who want to add to their business by opening Manchu WOK's in their zone. "Manchu WOK made the decision to turn its focus toward area developers in a move to enable larger growth opportunities with fewer partners," says the company in a release. Its first such deal has been made with Guillermo Perales who has begun constructing on two new Manchu WOK restaurants scheduled to open in early autumn in the Dallas region in Texas. Perales has a growing portfolio which includes branches such as Burger King, Golden Corral and Popeye's. Manchu WOK, owned by Ken Fowler Enterprises of Peterborough, Caf? de Coral of Hong Kong and the chain's senior management team has 82 Canadian and 127 U.S locations.
