With a population of over 410,000, Brampton is the 3 rd largest city in the Greater Toronto Area, 6 th largest city in Ontario, and the 14 th largest in Canada. It's now also the home to the 12th Made In Japan Teriyaki Experience street front location. Franchisees Tu Van, his wife Linh and her brother Brandon, opened their doors on May 1 and are pleased to be operating their family business in the community where they live. "We've already experienced a 15% increase in customer traffic during the month of June and new customers continue to discover us," Van said. The Brampton location is part of the First Pro Brampton shopping complex that covers the northwest and southwest corners of Airport Road and Highway #7, and dominates this busy intersection. Anchored by Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire and Rona, First Pro Brampton offers a variety of fashion, service, fast food and restaurants in an area that is a mix of residential and commercial. Made In Japan Teriyaki Experience is located in the northwest section of the shopping plaza. According to Nick Veloce, VP & COO, Made In Japan Teriyaki Experience corporate office, the company will open at least 6, and possibly more, street front locations by November 2005; four in the Toronto area, one in Alberta and one in Quebec. "We started in the shopping mall food courts, but our domestic growth has been focused on expansion on the street. We certainly will continue to open shopping mall food court locations when the right mall presents itself", he said. The most recent shopping mall location opened in June in Billings Bridge Plaza in Ottawa. The next food court location will open in August in The MaRS Discovery Centre in downtown Toronto. On the international front, the quick-service concept has been successful in two diverse markets Italy and the Middle East and continues to open locations in both regions. Italy has 8 locations with the most recent opening in Milan in June. Another is scheduled to open in Verona in September. The Middle East region has 9 locations and the next opening will be this July in Juffair Mall in Bahrain following by a location opening in Dana Mall, Bahrain in August. In September a location will open in Dubai's Mall of the Emirates, promoted as the largest shopping mall outside of North America and featuring the region's first snow dome and indoor ski slope. There are close to 100 Made In Japan Teriyaki Experience locations operating worldwide in Canada, Europe and the Middle East in shopping mall food courts, street fronts, office towers, universities, hospitals, airports and theme parks. This article has been read 1167 times .
