Eighteen of the firm’s sales associates have gotten involved in another side of the real estate business the construction and are reaching out to a low-income family to make their wish to own a home a reality. Plans for building a bi-level, two-bedroom, 765-square-foot house in Winnipeg’s West End are underway, as members from the CENTURY 21 Bachman & Associates team joined forces to raise the frame of the structure. “A home that’s where all of life is lived. It’s where memories are made. It’s more than bricks and mortar that’s just the shell. What happens on the inside is what changes a house into a home,” says broker manager Darlene Clare. The new owners, along with their two sons, will also have put in more than 500 hours of work on their new home by the time they will be able to move into their new house from their basement apartment. “If a family is going to be able to live here and fulfill their dreams, then it was a small price to pay to help make that happen,” says Lorne Weiss, award winning sales associate at CENTURY 21 Bachman & Associates. “This was the most rewarding charity work I have ever done and I’ve done charity since I was a little girl,” says Natasha Kouk, who has been with CENTURY 21 Bachman & Associates since 2001.
