On April 21, at a ceremony with over 700 attendees, CareersUSA, an employment staffing firm headquartered in Boca Raton, was named 2005 Business of the Year in the Human Resources category for the South Florida Business Journal's Regions Bank 2005 Business of the Year Awards. Roughly 200 companies in 18 categories were nominated for the prestigious award. CareersUSA's Chief Executive Officer Marilyn Ounjian personally accepted the award at a ceremony held at the Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, FL, where 704 attendees gathered to take part in a "Rocky"-movie-themed video and laser show presentation unveiling the final winners. Over 86 finalists were announced weeks before the ceremony, with only one company for each category taking away the final award.
